Atheer's work with American Airlines at the recent aerospace industry conference - MRO Americas - was featured in print and on the Web this month as part of a new story by Lindsay Bjerregaard, digital editorial producer for Aviation Week’s MRO portfolio.
The story discusses how the two companies worked together during the Aerospace Maintenance Competition (AMC) at MRO Americas last month - with American Airlines supplying an an MD-80 central control panel and Atheer providing a pair of Epson Moverio AR glasses equipped with AiR Enterprise. It explains how the event tested a technician’s ability to create step-by-step guidance to help a colleague through a task, place a video call to a remote expert and send a photo for remote collaboration.
In addition, Atheer senior vice president for sales and marketing Amar Dhaliwal explained how Atheer's strategy of working on a broad variety of Augmented Reality hardware is benefiting customers.
“What we have found is that there is no one piece of AR hardware that is going to be ideal for every use case, even in a moderately complex enterprise organization,” he said in the interview. “If there are going to be lots of glasses out there and companies are using more than one type of smart glasses in their business, it’s important for us to be able to have the same single piece of software running across all of these different platforms.”
